Are you tough enough to tame the UK’s No1 obstacle course?
Southend Hospital Charity, Mid Essex Hospitals Charity and Basildon Hospital Charity have teamed up to host a day of muddy fun!
What is Nuclear Races?
Nuclear Races is a brilliant outdoor obstacle course for adults. It’s so good it’s been voted the best in the UK. Mud features highly!
Do you need to be really fit to take part?
No. The event is all about having fun. How seriously you take it is up to you. There’ll be a bit of climbing, some mud and a bit of cold water. As long as you don’t mind a bit of mess, you’ll love it.
What should I wear?
Probably not a day for your best outfit. Be conventional and wear sports gear or go full fancy dress. Up to you. Either way, you’ll need a pair of trainers.
How much does it cost to enter?
The event is £45 per person – a huge discount on the normal price. This fee pays for you to participate.
How much sponsorship do I have to raise?
Every penny you raise will directly benefit your chosen hospital fund so please try to raise as much money as possible. We would love participants to target themselves with £100 for their chosen area but we will of course accept all donations, no matter how small. Every penny raised will make a difference.
Who can I raise money for?
You decide – You can choose to support either Southend Hospital, Basildon Hospital or Mid Essex Hospitals. You also get the choice on which ward/department appeal benefits from your fundraising.
How long is the course?
The course is 5k with the obstacles dotted throughout.
Is there an age limit?
All entrants must be over 13, with under-16s being accompanied by an adult.
Where is Nuclear Races?
Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood. Stick CM15 0LA in the sat nav.
I’ll be muddy and sweaty. Will there be showers afterwards?
Yes, hot showers will be available.
What about food and drink?
There will be plenty of food, drink and entertainment on the day, so bring your family and friends.
Should I invite my family and friends to watch?
The more the merrier.
Is there parking?
This event sounds brilliant. I’m going to sign up.
That’s the attitude.
